Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

July 7: Set My Face like a Flint

“…men of war fit for the battle, that could handle shield and buckler, whose faces were like faces of lions, and were as swift as roes upon the mountains” I Chronicles 12: 8

Read : Isaiah 50:7-9; Psalms 27:1-14

The correct posture of faith can be seen in some of our scriptures today. It is about time that circumstances and Satan’s army begin to fear you as a child of God. You have cried enough. The buckets are full of tears but Satan hasn’t stopped afflicting you! That is indication he doesn’t respond to tears. Jesus is referred to as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, and you are his protégée. So you can’t be anything less than a lion yourself. Have you ever seen a picture of a crying lion? It simply doesn’t exist! A lion loses his ‘royal’ status if he ever cries in the face of attack. So stop crying. Set your face like a flint. That is a hard rock! That is a posture that declares ‘I can not be defeated, I will not be stopped!!’ Remember that God is near you and anyone who contends with you contends with God. So how can you still be afraid or alarmed? Can you guess why David claimed to be confident and fearless even when war and the host of the enemy’s troops rose up against him? Can you imagine why the writer of Psalm 91 said he couldn’t be afraid of the terror by night or the arrow by day? It’s the fearless posture of faith. Take that posture today and begin to root out every devil set against your destiny!
