Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

April 5: How Are You Responding?

“But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the world unto our glory.I Corinthians 2:7

One of the most important factors determining the outcome of every situation in our lives is how we respond to the circumstances around us. How do you interpret and respond to your challenges, oppositions, and other experiences? You need understanding so you can appropriately interpret and respond to your circumstances. If you lack understanding, you may get depressed over a situation that is destined for your glory. I once heard the story of a young woman who was let go from her job. She fought depression and bitterness for weeks but eventually decided to let God work in her situation. Not long after that she was blessed with a new job and great favors that elevated her in every way beyond where she had been before in her previous job. And shortly after that, her former company shut down and filed bankruptcy. Now with the advantage of hindsight, this young woman rejoices that she was let go from that former company because it has turned out for her good! If she had a foreknowledge of how things would have played out, she would actually have rejoiced when first informed of her termination. That is what understanding does for us. You may remember the story of Joseph who was sold to slavery by his brothers for his ambitious dreams. You will recall that Joseph did not get bitter or angry. In fact, he later on told his brothers that he was set up by God for posterity! Do you see the sovereign hands of God working in your challenging situation today? You are being set up for promotion and posterity. So rejoice!
