…[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection… – Philippians 3:10 (AMP)

Paul, the Apostle, was a man who lived a very successful life. He not only excelled in his ministry, but he also impacted a great part of the known world in his generation. Our scriptural text today shows some of the secrets of his success. He said his determined purpose was to know God and become more intimately acquainted with Him. He said he yearned to perceive, recognize, and understand the wonders of God’s Person more strongly and more clearly. Wow! It is impossible to set such high goals and standards for life and not be successful. I have read some great stories in the Bible about the wonders of God’s Person. One of the ones that stand out clearly in my mind right now is how He delivered the three Hebrew boys out of the midst of the burning fiery furnace, and they came out without even the smell of smoke! Do you know God can still do that kind of stuff today? Paul said that when we realize the wonders of His Person in different areas of life, the power of His resurrection is made available to us! Oh, I want that in my life today. Don’t you? Go ahead and give God praise for the wonders of His Person.
