Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

February 5: The Secret Place

“Oh God, early will I seek Thee: my soul thirsteth for Thee, my flesh longeth…” – Psalms 63:1

Read:  Psalms 91: 1-16; I Corinthians 2: 6-13; Luke 9:28-32; Exodus 33:1-11

All through Scripture, we find that one of the practices of the most successful people was their devotion to God, which was always expressed in the altars they erected to God. If you must succeed as a Christian, then you must have a designated place and time where you meet with the Holy Spirit daily.  The Holy Spirit is the manufacturer of every new thing God has planned for your life, and the “secret place” is His ‘factory’ and ‘delivery house’ where those things are released to you. Do not sell your birthright to a life of blessings by compromising the first things of your life: a sound relationship with the Holy Spirit, and quality time spent with Him in the secret place. Go to bed early. Set your alarm to wake you up early so you can spend at least 30 minutes in God’s presence worshipping, praying and studying the Bible before dashing off to a busy day’s work. Give the Holy Spirit a chance to reveal Himself and your great future to you in the secret place. When your deep desire for God meets with His desire for your devotion in the secret place, blessings erupt! In Exodus 33:1-11, Moses stood out among the children of Israel daily as he approached God in the ‘Tent of Meeting.’ Ironically, everybody else apart from Joshua stood afar off and watched these 2 wise men seeking and receiving the heart of God. Needless to say, God loved their devotion and spoke to Moses as a “friend” while choosing Joshua as his successor. I pray that you discover the rich treasures of God’s secret place today in Jesus Name. Amen.
