Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

December 28: The Fruit of the Righteous

“…I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain….” Isaiah 45: 19

Read: Colossians 1:9-13; Proverbs 11:30-31

Apostle Paul prayed for the New Testament saints in Colosse that they would walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, and be fruitful in every good work. The original translation of the word fruitful is fertile or to bring forth much fruit. The dictionary defines the word fertile as, “rich, having abundant resources; prolific; productive; inventive; able to produce abundantly.” These are all very exciting descriptions of fruitfulness especially because that is how God sees us. If you are serving the Lord like most of us are, He will make you fruitful and reward you. You will not only be fruitful in the work of your hands but also in the kingdom. The greatest fruits a Christian can bear are the fruits of souls. And God will help us win people into His kingdom so we can earn an eternal reward. The writer of proverbs says the fruit of the righteous is a “tree of life” that means you have a lot of fruits (souls) prepared for you and waiting on you to be harvested. As God opens doors for you, reach out and tell people about Christ. Share your faith and tell what He’s done in your life.
