“And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me.” – Isaiah 49:2
Read: Mark 4:14-20; Isaiah 49:1-26
Someone once wrote a book titled, “Tough times never last, tough people do” and said, “When the going gets tough, the tough must get going.” Please understand that when the going gets tough, you need to get going in the Word. There are five major ways through which the devil attacks in order to steal God’s Word from us: intense pressure, persecutions, cares and worries, deceitfulness of possessions, and several forms of lust (or strong desires). If you stand strong through adversity refusing to yield to these areas of testing, you will be blessed. Don’t pay attention to the enemy’s lie that God’s Word is not working or that He has forgotten about you. Meditate on Isaiah 49 for some time. Know that you are special. Nothing happens to you that God hasn’t already provided solutions for. God says He will contend with those who contend with you (Isaiah 49:25). So toughen up in the Word. Use the sword in your mouth and gain the victory. You are going on to possess all that God has for you!
