Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

September 16: Joy Thieves

“These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”

John 15:11

Read: Psalms 126:1-6; Habakkuk 3:17-19

Joy is an anointing that opens the door to the power of the Holy Spirit, and births victory. Joy is also the gateway to praise and thanksgiving, and joy guarantees your glorious destiny! It is not surprising then that Satan works overtime to steal our joy. Brother Jerry Savelle said one time that if Satan can not steal your joy, then he can’t keep your goods. He is going to have to cough up everything he stole from you if you hold on to your joy! Nehemiah 8:10 says, “The joy of the Lord is our strength” And if you don’t have strength, you can not fight or win in life. So you and I need to wise up, and keep the door to our hearts locked against the subtle ‘Joy thieves’ Satan will send our way. One of the ways to do that is to be very committed to the Word of God. That is the most powerful ‘heart guard’ that there is. The Word will keep out sin, worry, anxiety, bitterness, prolonged anger, depression, fear, grief, deferred hope, and every other joy thief. So dig in the Word today. Read it, study and meditate on it.
