“By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature.” – II Peter 1:4 (AMP)
Read: II Peter 1:3-8; Daniel 1:3-20; Numbers 6:1-4
The Word of God tells us in II Peter 1:3 that God’s divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue). Notice it says God has called us to glory and excellence. It is through this lifestyle of excellence that we are able to escape by flight from the moral decay of rottenness and corruption that is ravaging the world today. It is only as we operate in the spirit of excellence available to born again believers that we are set above the evil that is so rampant around us. I want to believe that if the Word says we escape the corruption, then the manifestations of that corruption have no power over us. Oh! Thank God for the Divine nature of God with which we have been clothed. Failure, sickness, discouragement, depression, death, sorrow, poverty, oppression, etc. are all a part of that corruption and they should have no power over the saints! Because we have the very nature of God (I didn’t say that, God did!). You may see signs of that corruption around you. That does not negate the word of God. Let God be true and every man a liar. Hallelujah! Anything condemned to the earth ends up in the grave and is bound to become corrupt and decay. But you and I have escaped that. Glory to God! Remember that Jesus was anointed with the “Oil of Gladness” because He walked in excellence. Well, that Oil of Gladness from the Holy Spirit is available to beautify your life today. So receive the grace for excellence; receive the ‘Oil’; receive the divine nature and rise all the way to the top! Sooner than later, you and I will be caught up to meet Jesus in the air. What a glorious day that will be!! Are you looking forward to it? Bye-bye, world!!
