Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

October 18:Overcoming Life’s Pressures

“There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.” II Corinthians 4:18 (MSG)

Read : II Corinthians 4:13-18; Isaiah 49:13-16, 23-26

I believe God wants to encourage you today if you are experiencing pressures that are trying your faith. Pressures and difficulties are a part of life and none of us will escape them. No matter how strong a believer you are or how well developed your faith is, you will experience pressure on this side of eternity. There may be blessings that haven’t manifested yet. There may be strong opposition to your faith. There may be concerns for the future. There may be health needs that try your faith deeply. There may be financial pressures, or family trouble, or maybe your business or ministry just seems to be crawling. Or it could be something else that I have not mentioned. I know you may feel like God is reading your mail today. It seems so dark and dreary all around you. Relax! God is still in charge. And He hasn’t forgotten about you, and never will, in spite of what it sometimes feels like. Maybe you have been really faithful in giving seed, tithing, serving, loving, volunteering, etc. and it seems like God isn’t fulfilling His own end of the deal. Remember that He is faithful, and will come through for you. Remember that God does not lie and He does not fail. Those things are not in His character! I want to encourage you from Apostle Paul’s writings. He suffered a lot too. He was beaten, imprisoned, haunted by enemies, despised, chained, and forgotten. But in spite of all that he suffered, he kept strong in the faith: because as long as you keep strong in the faith, your situation will change. Crying, whining, complaining, pity-partying, etc all feel good but don’t move God. Only faith moves God. So stay strong in faith. Nothing you experience is bigger than God. And He is not the tempter. The devil is the tempter and the thief. But we are more than conquerors through Christ Who loved us. Rejoice in the Lord’s promises today and thank Him for His perfect plan for your life.
