Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

May 18: Greater than Solomon

“…and shalt call His Name Jesus. He shall be great…the Son of the Highest.”

Luke 1: 31, 32

Read: I Kings 4:29-34; Luke 1:30-32; Psalms 115:14

King Solomon was one of the greatest kings who ruled over Israel. The Bible tells us that he was greater than his father King David, and that he was blessed with wisdom, understanding and great exceeding wealth. He was so great that some of the great rulers of other nations in his time traveled for days just to see Solomon’s wealth and greatness. And yet Jesus said about Himself, that a greater than Solomon was around (Luke 11 : 31) Little wonder then that even at His birth, wise men came from distant lands bringing treasures to celebrate His birth and great destiny. Everything that belonged to His ‘daddy’ belonged to Him so He was addressed as “the Mighty God,” “The Everlasting Father,” “The Prince of Peace.” When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we receive the ‘seed’ of God’s greatness and become as He is. As the Father sent the Son to be great, so the Son has sent us to be great! So begin to see yourself as God sees you from today. He sees you as great. He sees you as full of wisdom, counsel and understanding. He sees you as a joint heir with Christ. Begin to walk in that light in Jesus Name.
