And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face as a man speaketh unto his friend… – Exodus 33:11
Read: Psalms 25: 9-14; Proverbs 14: 26-27
There are many benefits to walking in the fear of the Lord. One of the ones I love the most which has enriched my life over the years is confidence. There is a confidence that walking in the fear of the Lord confers upon you. You just know deep in your heart that you are settled. Nothing can move you or shift you or threaten you. You can not be terrorized and you fear neither man nor beast! Proverbs says in the fear of the Lord is strong confidence and His (covenant) people will have a place of refuge. It goes on to say the fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, so even death can not seize you! And let me tell you, child of God, you cannot make it without that confidence in your life. You may make a lot of noise and seem very confident in the natural, but the devil knows your number and he will torment you. I have seen a lot of people like that. They talk much and seem to have it all together but if trouble knocks from a distance, they begin to tremble like spaghetti! Many of the soldiers of Israel were like that. The Bible says they had a “battle-cry,” as in they could make a lot of noise. But as soon as Goliath showed up, they all took off and sought cover! David had the fear of the Lord and he was the only one who withstood the evil giant. The fear of the Lord will protect you. However, another great benefit of the fear of the Lord is that the secrets of the covenant come to you cheaply. The Psalmist says the secret of the Lord is with those that fear Him and he will show them His covenant. Do you fear God? Are you obeying His Word? Are you living in integrity? Ask the Lord to help you do that more today. I see you with great confidence, enjoying the secrets of the covenant, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
