“Let the words of my mouth… be acceptable in Thy sight o Lord my strength and Redeemer. ” – Psalms 19:14
Read: Matthew 12:37; Romans 10:8-10
The words of your mouth are so important; they determine the direction and events of your life. The devil has gotten hold of most of the languages of the world, including the English language because he knows the power of words. It is not uncommon to hear expressions like, “I was scared to death” or “this thing is killing me” or “I doubt I will ever come out of this” etc. It is much easier to tear down our future with our words than it is to build them up, because of the hold Satan has on our languages and tongues. But the Book of Proverbs says you will be satisfied or destroyed by the fruit of your lips because the power of life and death is in the tongue. The things you say will happen sooner or later. You may not realize it, but you are a product of the words you spoke yesterday. And the things you say today will determine your future. So start cultivating positive words from today. Refuse to say negative things about yourself, even when you’re joking. Stop saying, “I can’t afford it” or “this marriage won’t work” or “I’ll never get out of debt” or “I guess I’m getting old,” etc. and start making confessions like “I can do all things through Christ”; “Greater is He that is in me than the devil in the world”; “My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory”; “God fills my mouth with good things and renews my youth like the eagle’s!”
