O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is. – Psalms 63:1
Read: John 4:1-14
A lot of times people don’t really know what they need even though they think they do. It is quite interesting that most of the people Jesus ministered to seemed to have very obvious needs, but the Lord still asked them what they needed Him to do for them before giving them their desired miracle. Beloved, do you really know what your greatest need in life is? You may think it’s a job or a husband or wife, or a new car etc. However, Jesus knew the greatest need of the woman by the well was the “water of life.” In spite of all the experiences she had pursued, Jesus knew she was not satisfied and the only thing that would satisfy her was the “water of life.” You may not realize it beloved, but what you and I need the most is the “water of life.” David cried out to God and said “my soul and flesh thirsts for you in a dry and thirsty land.” That kind of cry is music to God’s ears. He loves to know that we are thirsty for the Holy Spirit, and the satisfaction He alone can give. Pray for a new insatiable thirst for the Holy Spirit today.
