“For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will be their Shepherd, and He will guide them to the springs of water of life…..” – Revelations 7:17
Read: Psalms 23:1-6
King David in Psalm 23 enumerates the relationship that exists between the Shepherd and the sheep. The Lord knows that in order to flourish in life, we need to be planted. So He takes it on Himself to plant us in church families. If you are in a living church, you didn’t just stray in there. God took you there because He knew your spiritual needs would be met there. Notice that God’s priority in planting us is two-fold: “green pastures” or a place where the fresh revelation of God’s Word is preached; and “still, restful waters” or a place where the Holy Spirit is honored and allowed to move freely. Every other blessing of Psalm 23 follows these two. Look at your local church today and see if these two priorities exist. God promised in Jeremiah 3:15-16 to give pastors to His people who would feed them with knowledge and understanding. And when you dig your heels in, and feed on the fresh “manna” that is dished out there, you will become multiplied and increased in the land. I see you increasing today in Jesus’ name.
