2 Timothy 2:14-26; Galatians 5:16-25
“But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God).” (Galatians 5:16, AMPC)
Overcoming sin will not be a fight we lose most of the time if we walk daily with the Holy Spirit and yield our flesh to Him. Sanctification is cooperating with the Holy Spirit in the daily process of conquering our flesh. There are practical steps we can take in order to give ourselves the advantage over sin and temptations: Let the Holy Spirit lead you daily, and be sensitive to His promptings in your life to always obey them. Identify the ‘openings’ for sin in your life and shut the doors with the help of the Holy Spirit. Fill your spirit-being and keep it occupied with edifying substance by reading, listening to, studying and meditating the word of God daily. Appropriate the grace of God every day for living a sanctified life. If the struggle with your flesh gets overwhelming, cry out and ask God to help you, and seek help from a minister. If you do fall into sin and miss the mark, admit your error, quit it and forget it. Keep on moving, living a sanctified life and glorifying God. I see the Lord helping you!
Prayer: Invite the Holy Spirit to help you.
