Deuteronomy 2: 24-36; Jude 3, 20-25; 2 Corinthians 10:3-6
‘Rise up, take your journey…I have given into thine hand Sihon..king of Heshbon..and his land…begin to possess it and contend with him in battle’ – Deut 2:24
Our inheritance is waiting. There is so much more that God intends for us to possess on this earth for His glory. We must not cede any territory assigned to us by God to the enemy or the world. If we do not contend in battle for what is ours, Satan will remain the illegitimate owner of it. The reason many believers fail to possess their rightful inheritance is they expect God to do everything for them: They expect God to do the giving, the receiving, the fighting, the possessing etc. However, that is contrary to the Word of God. Religion has indoctrinated us wrongly over the years to see faith as a passive lifestyle, but true Bible faith is action. Ruthless, determined, aggressive, persistent action. Our hands represent our faith. And they must fight in order to ensure victory in the battles of life. One of the most practical definitions of faith is: ‘Acting on the Word of God.’ You cannot fold your hands in battle, so your faith must never be inactive or dormant. We are up against an enemy that will contend for everything our Father has given us, so we must not go to sleep and assume everything will work out. Everything will work out only if we will be responsible to claim what is rightfully ours even when circumstances indicate otherwise. You are possessing your godly inheritance beginning today!
Prayer & Confession:
Father, thank you for every blessing that you have given me. I refuse to be defeated. I’m taking my fight to the enemy today. I have the victory, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
