“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I set you apart for my holy purpose.” Jeremiah 1:5 GW

Let’s talk about Moses. If Moses’ burial site had a headstone, the inscription could have read: “Moses, the great leader of Israel; the friend of God.” Moses’ awe-inspiring story was however, 120 years in the making (Deut 34:7), and today we are privy to the beginning, middle and end of that story. For Moses however, it was a life initially full of unfulfilled dreams and frustrations, but thankfully it ended as a fulfilled destiny. In Exodus 2:1-22, we read about his early years and how at age 40, he had tried unsuccessfully to help his fellow Israelites. Eventually, while running from Pharaoh into the wilderness, Moses got married and settled down to raise a family. He probably struggled with many internal conflicts but resigned himself to living the rest of his days as a shepherd. However, God had other plans; there was still another 40 years unlived. Child of God, you may think this is it: that this is how things will remain in your life. You may be having the best time of your life, but you need to know that there is a Call of God on your life and life’s best is right in the center of it. On the other hand, you may have become cynical and skeptical; feeling life has cheated you and now you have “settled down” to a humdrum existence. Nevertheless, you need to know it’s not all done yet; your story is not complete; there are chapters yet to be written. Today may be your “burning bush experience.” God is calling you to a higher place in Him. Will you heed His call?
