“For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.” – Proverbs 2: 6
Read: I Kings 3:4-14
If you had a revelation and saw God giving you the privilege to ask Him for anything you want I bet you would be really thrilled. Now, let’s assume He gave you a lifetime opportunity to ask Him for just one thing, what would you ask for? Would it be a new car, a wife or husband, a new job? Well, I’m sure there are many things different people would ask for. But let me tell you what Solomon asked for when he had the experience I have just described to you: he asked God for a heart of understanding. That’s a very wise person. He realized that if he had an understanding heart, everything else would come to him easily, and it did. He became the wealthiest, wisest, strongest, and most blessed king in his day. Understanding is the most precious asset anyone could possess. It helps us to work with ‘Covenant sense’ not common sense. Understanding reveals the heart of people and the heart of matters. Understanding delivers information that is otherwise concealed to the natural eyes, and Solomon was able to enjoy all these benefits. Go ahead and pray the Pauline prayers in Ephesians 1 and 3 for yourself today.
