I Thessalonians 4:1-12
“Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own.” (1 Corinthians 6:19, AMPC)
It is incumbent on each of us to know how to ‘possess’ our bodies in sanctification and honor. We know our bodies have no desire to make any sacrifices in order to please God. However, we need to ‘possess’ them, rather than allow them ‘possess’ us. We should take the lead in mastering our bodies, so they don’t take liberties that grieve the Holy Spirit. It really is up to us to determine to be vessels unto honor for God rather than desecrated temples. It must be our determined purpose to please God in every area of our lives, including our physical bodies. You probably have ‘flesh trouble’ like all the rest of us. So, don’t feel like you are the only one that struggles with sinful thoughts, temptations and excesses of the flesh. Even the apostles of old had to fight their flesh too. The good news is that many of them won their struggles over the flesh and we can win over ours too! Just make a quality decision today and commit to living holy and the Holy Spirit will come alongside you to help you. Commit to honoring God in your body today.
Prayer: Confess the word of God and dominate your flesh today.
