Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

October 25:Excellence in Relationships

“Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:  (32)  And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:31-32

Relationships are a very vital part of each of our lives and none of us can make it without valuable, God-given relationships. Relationships, really, are building blocks to destiny. Without relationships of destiny, our destinies will be aborted. I believe that is why Satan really has a field day attacking relationships and marriages in the world today. But one of the ways God has given us to defeat his evil agenda in our lives is to exhibit the spirit of excellence in relationships, families, and marriages. The Bible tells us that God commended Abraham because he displayed a standard of excellence in his family relationships (Genesis 18:19). Consider the passion with which he interceded for Sodom because his nephew Lot was there. Most people would be unconcerned about anything that did not affect them directly. Consider the value he placed on harmony in relationships when he humbly appealed to Lot (Genesis 13:8, 9) and asked that they avoid strife at every cost. Let me ask you today: Are you conducting your relationships with an excellent attitude? Are you committed to family and friends? Are you a faithful person? It is important to realize that our success in life is largely determined by our success in relationships. A very highly celebrated pop star was asked recently if he had any regrets in life. He said he was very lonely in his success. Real valuable relationships are cultivated when we start out climbing the ladder of life. So take steps today to pray over your relationships. Commit to being honorable; to loving and believing in people; go out of your way and reach out; even when you feel used, don’t retaliate or become bitter. Stay positive, joyful, encouraging and kind. I see your destiny fulfilled, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
