“….get wisdom: and with all thy getting, get understanding.” – Proverbs 4:7

We can not flourish if we are not planted. And we can not be planted or established in God without understanding. We know from many of Jesus’ teachings and the explanations He gave the disciples that most people lack understanding. Let me ask you, how much understanding do you have? The writer of Proverbs knowing the value of understanding charged that we pursue and get it with all our getting. The Message Bible translation puts it this way, “Above all, and before all, do this: Get wisdom. Write this at the top of your list: Get understanding.” Do you know how to get understanding? First, get more committed to the Word; second, invite the Spirit of wisdom, the Holy Spirit to enlighten your mind; and third, find a ‘Philip’ in your life. Find an anointed man or woman of God who can expound God’s Word to you from time to time. In other words, become committed to a Bible believing, spirit filled church, and be more devoted to the ministry of the Word there. Ask God for wisdom and understanding today. Make it a priority in your life. I see you being established in Jesus name.
