Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

August 11: Keys Lock Doors and Keys Open Doors

“… sin is lying outside your door ready to attack. It wants to control you, but you must master it. – ” Genesis 4:7(GW)

Read: Genesis 4:3-13; James 1:13-15; Acts 5:1-10

The Keys of the Kingdom that Jesus gave us will help us open doors, and at the same time keep others locked. Some doors need to remain perpetually open in our lives. E.g. doors of wisdom, favour, understanding, peace, forgiveness, increase etc. And yet some doors must be closed and locked up so the blessings given us by God aren’t leaked away. Satan gets a trashing from many a Christian. We blame him for almost everything! The joke has been told about Satan weeping and lamenting before God over being accused for everything including things he had nothing to do with in believers’ lives. We need to know that Satan can not do anything in our lives without our co-operation. In order to put yokes round our lives or round our necks, he needs to gain entry into our lives. What most Christians are unaware of, is that we have portals, doors through which he comes in and then binds us. Understand from today that your life is like a ‘house’ and it has ‘doors.’ Satan knows your doors very well and therefore so must you.

What then is your door? (1) Your strongest desires and (2) Your ancestral lineage.  What are your strongest desires (or lusts)?  They have brought you to your knees several times. For Cain it was envy, for Ananias and Sapphira: Strong desire for money and societal affirmation. Solomon: Lust for strange women. Judas: Lust for money. Everyone has doors. Identify them and keep them locked using your God-given keys.
