Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

March 16: By God’s Rhema

“Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart. Jeremiah 15:16

Read:?Deuteronomy 8:1-8; Jeremiah 17:5-9

The Word of God is so powerful. There is nothing in the Word that is not guaranteed if we will believe. Unfortunately, many times, relying on God’s Word is very challenging. It is easier to get happy when a man promises us a job than it is to rejoice at the promise in God’s Word for divine provision. Many of us have a greater confidence in what people say than in what God’s Word declares. And that is sad, because the Bible says it is a curse to put our trust in man. If we do, we will become destitute, and inhabit the dry places of life (Jeremiah 17:5). So in order to teach us to trust His Word, God allows us to suffer disappointments and other trying situations at the hands of people. The children of Israel were allowed to sojourn in the wilderness for 40 years so they would be humbled and learn to live only by God’s Rhema or Words proceeding from His mouth. Like most of us they were very excited by manna, or bread, which they gathered daily. But manna and every other material benefit will fade. Only the Word of God will last forever. Let me ask you today: do you really trust God? Have you placed your total dependence on His Word or are you chasing after manna? There is a confidence that will pervade your life that all of hell can not stand. That confidence can only come through living daily by God’s Word. The prophet Jeremiah put it nicely. He said, the man who trusts God will be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river. I believe that person is you!  I see the Word of God taking you into the palace prepared for you by Him. Dig deeper in the Word today.
