“…nevertheless I am not ashamed…for I know Whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able…..” – II Timothy 1:12

One of the greatest indicators of faith is total confidence in God and His Word. I am yet to meet a man or woman with great faith who did not exude great confidence in God’s ability. Prophet Jeremiah announced that it is a curse to put confidence in people or things. If you trust anyone other than God you will be disappointed. And what a shame people inherit when their trust is in man. But what a blessing it is to trust in God and His promises! Abraham was fully persuaded that God’s Word would be fulfilled. He refused to be weak in faith, but kept on trusting God. And sure enough, God came through! David refused to put his confidence in princes when he challenged Goliath. He said in Psalm 20, “Some trust in horses and some in chariots, but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. When they are brought down and fallen, we will rise up and stand upright!” He demonstrated that in the conflict with Goliath. Goliath went down, but David rose to an esteemed position in Israel on the same day! Let me ask you: who are you trusting? What is your confidence in? Deliver yourself from shame and begin to put your trust in God alone. And you’ll see that whatever hell sends against you will have to bow, because you are more than a conqueror. Your faith will put you over hell and help you swim through ‘high-water!’ Oh what a blessing our faith is!
