Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

January 17: Run the Race Set Before You

Just think of Him who endured from sinners such grievous opposition and bitter hostility against Himself [reckon up and consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you may not grow weary or exhausted, losing heart and relaxing and fainting in your minds . – Hebrews 12:3 (AMP)

Read:  Hebrews 11:32-12:4

The Word of God tells us clearly that there is a race set before every believer (Hebrews 12:1). God created each of us with a unique destiny. Do you know what your God-ordained purpose is in life? Are you making definite steps to press toward that purpose, or are you just drifting along, hoping that you arrive at your destination somehow? There are a few things we must do if we will achieve our destiny. First, we must lay aside, strip off, and throw aside every weight or hindrance to our Christian progress. These will include habits, attitudes, excuses, some relationships, etc. Then we must lay aside the main sin that highlights our physical weakness. Every Christian has that and we must identify and be ruthless in dealing with that sin. Finally, we must learn to run with patience and perseverance, while keeping our eyes on our supreme example, Jesus Christ. There are so many distractions in our society. However, we can look away from these distractions and focus on the Lord. Don’t be a casualty. Run your race to win. Receive God’s help today. You are a winner, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
