He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty – Psalms 91:1

The promises of Psalm 91 are some of the most powerful in the entire Bible. I know many Christians, including myself, have claimed these promises especially in challenging times. However, these are promises made exclusively to people who are dwelling in God’s ‘Secret Place’. God’s secret place is God’s higher place. No matter where you are right now, God is challenging you to step up to a higher place in your relationship with Him. The word ‘dwell’ implies taking up residence in a place. That means we are not just stopping by, but actually living there on a daily, on-going basis. Dwelling in that secret place requires that we press into God. He said in v.14 of Psalm 91, ‘I will set him on high, because he hath known my name’. Knowing His Name doesn’t just mean knowing the Name of Jesus. But it implies having a revelation of who He is, and developing an intimate relationship with Him. And when we know His Name, He promises to set us on high. Make up your mind today, to press your way into God’s secret place. Determine not just to visit, but to ‘dwell’ and reside there.
