Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

Day 16: Wisdom Is Not Cheap

Job 28:12-28; Proverbs 1:1-7, 20-33; Matthew 12:38-42.

“But where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?” – Job 28:12

Wisdom is not cheap, and you are going to pay a great price for it if you want it. You won’t find it by the side of the road or in your local restaurants or grocery store. If you want to be proficient at any craft or develop skills to make you marketable and profitable in life, you will have to apply yourself and make a huge investment to learn that craft and develop those skills. Foolishness and ignorance are two of the cheapest commodities on the earth today, and there is an abundance of both everywhere you look. But wisdom is not cheap. It is expensive to get a good quality and profitable education, but wisdom is more expensive than the highest education in the world. The book of Proverbs teaches us that. What is important to understand is that we don’t pay for it with money, and we don’t necessarily get it in a college or university. To my knowledge, there is no class in Harvard called WISDOM 101.

So, where do we get the wisdom of God? Where do we find it? What can we pay for it if the price isn’t in dollars and cents? Well, praise God, I’m glad you asked because for ages and generations people have been asking those same questions. First, today let us make a deep heartfelt commitment to finding and walking in the wisdom of God. Everything begins with a quality decision, and the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. Commit to seeking, finding, walking in, and growing in the wisdom of God for the rest of your life. The Lord will honor that commitment, and the seed of wisdom will begin to germinate and grow in your life. Amen!

Prayer: Father, I thank you for the wisdom that is heaped up for my life. I commit to seeking, finding, walking in, and growing in that wisdom. I commit to prioritizing your wisdom in my life every day. I receive Grace to do so. In Jesus’ mighty Name. Amen!
