“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they… shall eat the fruit thereof…” – Proverbs 18:20, 21
Read: Luke 7:1-10; Hebrews 11:3; Joshua 1:8
The centurion in our passage above really impressed Jesus with his faith. He was a man of means and power but none of these could save his highly cherished servant who was dying. But this centurion knew that God’s Word was a sure cure for any ailment; a sure solution for any problem. And he acted on it by telling Jesus He didn’t even have to come into His house. All He needed to do was “speak the Word only.”
Words are creative. Everything we see in the world today was created by spoken words. Jesus demonstrated through the incidence of the dried fig tree in Mark 11 that you have what you say. If you say something long enough, whether good or bad, you will begin to see it in your life. That is why it is important that the only things we say about ourselves are the things God says in His Word and the good life we desire. Your life today is a reflection of what you said yesterday. If you are not happy with it, then change what you’re saying. Many times we are tempted to say negative things because of what we see. But everything we see is temporary and subject to change. Begin to create a good future for yourself from today. God said to Joshua, “If you want good success in your future, then don’t let my (good) Words depart from your lips.” I see you with a great future in Jesus Name. Amen
