Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

Day 15: What Time Is It?

John 7:1-8; Ecclesiastes 3:1-11, 14; Ecclesiastes 8:1, 4-6; Genesis 25:19-34.

“From the tribe of Issachar….these men understood the signs of the times and knew the best course for Israel to take.” – 1 Chronicles 12:32, NLT

One of the greatest hallmarks of people of wisdom is that they have an acute sense of timing. What is the right way to go, and when is the right time to step into that right way? Is this the right time for this move that I need to make? Timing is everything in life. And people of wisdom are always on time. People who recognize and maximize opportunity also realize there is a fitting time to use the opportunities they are given in life. You can take a step a year or a month ahead of time and that decision can ruin the plan of God for that season of your life. Think about the ripening of a fruit or the delivery of a baby by a pregnant woman. When her term is not complete, that delivery could be a miscarriage or stillbirth. God makes all things beautiful in its time, and if it’s not time, it will be ugly, devastating, and unprofitable. Pray for yourself, that as you continue to grow in wisdom, the Lord will also help you grow in your sense of timing. Doing the right thing at the wrong time will deprive you of the full benefits of that thing, even though it was the right thing to do. It is also important that we are not lazy or faithless in seizing the opportunities God provides for us. We must not procrastinate once we make certain about the time and substance of the opportunity. Opportunity that is lost or missed can take many years to get back. Do not allow Satan to lure you to sleep or be careless where the timings of your destiny are concerned. Esau was endowed with the blessing of the Birthright because he was the firstborn. That was essentially a timing matter. He got a blessing because he arrived earlier than his brother. But he despised the blessing and lost his birthright (opportunity), and his brother Jacob arrived ahead of him to claim their father’s blessing. I pray that you will not miss your time or your birthright blessing in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!

Prayer: I thank you, Lord, for placing me in the right place at the right time. I pray that you help me grow in my sense of timing so I can take advantage of every opportunity you bring into my life. I receive the Grace for patience, so I wait when you say to do so. I receive the boldness and courage to step out when you instruct me to. I give you praise Father. In Jesus’ mighty Name. Amen!
