“We were there on the holy mountain with him. We heard the voice out of heaven with our very own ears” – 2 Pet 1:18 (MSG)
Read: Luke 9:28-35
There is something significant about going up to God’s mountain. Going up to the mountain is just an expression that depicts the practice of setting time apart from our regular routine to spend time in God’s presence for an extended period of time. This does not necessarily refer to a physical mountain. Our Lord and Savior, the most anointed and blessed person who ever lived, took time to go to God’s mountain, and we should do the same from time to time. Even though we may feel like there’s no way out of our schedule, if you pray about it, God will help you create time, and help you with your pressing responsibilities. Change happens on the mountain of God. Breakthroughs happen there. And above all, we can hear Him speak clearer than usual, because we are removed from the usual distractions that have our focus. We receive illumination to deal wisely and accurately with the issues of life facing us when we go up to the mountain. Ask God to help you make time for this mountain-top experience periodically. You will be blessed, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
