“The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea I have a goodly heritage.” – Psalms 16: 5
Read: II Peter 1:3-11
In 1999, I watched the birth of two babies celebrated in the media. The first was born on a tree in the flood ravaged nation of Mozambique, while the other was born in England, in one of the best hospitals in the world. One had a future already planned and prepared, while the other had many odds set against his survival. One had access to the best doctors, nurses, medical and social facilities in the world, while the other had nothing but blankets, leftover food, and a determined mother’s love. And all of these had nothing to do with whatever either of these two children had done. One of them was called Leo, son of British Prime Minister, Tony Blair. The other may never know his name or enjoy the privileges of a normal life. That is what David is talking about when he says, “the boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places!” Even though boundary lines are set by the world, as a child of God, you are not bound by those lines. God will be good to you. He is taking you from zero to hero. Your beginning may be small, but your latter end will increase greatly in Jesus’ name. Hallelujah! You have a goodly heritage.
