Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

November 15: The Spirit of Wisdom

“…He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught. The Sovereign Lord has opened my ears, and I have not been rebellious…” Isaiah 50:4-5

Read: Isaiah 11:1-4; I Corinthians 2:6-16

A very good definition for the word ‘Wisdom’ is “comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God” None of us will make it in life without God’s wisdom. Usually, God will send favor to open doors for us but it is wisdom that helps us take advantage of the opportunities created by favor. Do you remember that was what happened to Joseph? Favor got him into the palace but wisdom helped him rule as a prince. Do you need wisdom today? You are definitely in good company because we all do. The Bible says if any man lacks wisdom, he should ask God Who gives liberally and upbraids not (James 1:5). When Jesus was transfigured by the Holy Ghost, two men (Moses & Elijah) appeared and discussed with Him His purpose and mission. You may never encounter Elijah or Moses on a mountain like Jesus did, but you and I have been given the Holy Spirit to reveal our purpose and give us wisdom for its fulfillment. The Holy Spirit’s activity in the life of Jesus according to Isaiah 11:2-3 was one which imparted wisdom, intelligence, prudence, counsel, advice, eloquence etc. “…. As He is, so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17) If Jesus received practical advice and directions as to how to fulfill his mission in life, then we cannot do less. Go ahead and ask the Holy Spirit to breath on you today. Ask for wisdom, counsel, direction etc. It is His delight to release those blessings on your life. Give God praise for those blessings.
