Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

DAY 21: Teach Us to Pray

Luke 11:1-13

“So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.”  (Romans 8:26, AMPC)

Praying with the help of the Holy Spirit is the smartest, most productive and most effectual way to pray. When we cultivate an on-going relationship with the Holy Spirit, one of the ways He helps us the most is in our prayer lives. Yield to Him constantly and let Him lead you and help you with your weaknesses and ignorance in prayer. Many times, we don’t know what to pray for as we should, even though we may be aware of the need at hand. The on-going ministry of the Holy Spirit in our individual prayer lives usually generates power that makes prayer produce results in whatever situation we are confronting. Prayer can be drudgery and burdensome when we are doing it on our own. However, when the Holy Spirit gets in the ‘prayer room’ with us and assumes the lead role, our prayer life becomes a highly productive and gratifying spiritual exercise. Why not dig in the word of God for scriptures that speak to your situation today, and then invite the Holy Spirit to help you pray right.

Prayer: I yield myself to you, precious Holy Spirit. Take over and pray through me today.
