Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

August 12: Breaking the Cycle of Darkness

Be careful! Watch out for attacks from the Devil, your great enemy. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for some victim to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8(NLT)

The enemy really has no new tricks. If you look over your life, you’ll find that you’ve been floored by him several times but usually through the same area. There are areas of our lives where we all feel very vulnerable and Satan knows these areas well too. It is wisdom to be honest with yourself about what your peculiar weakness areas may be. Once you identify the vulnerable areas of your life, it becomes easy to determine how to overcome them. To avoid satanic intrusions into our lives, we must understand the enemy’s strategy. It is quite simple. (1) He identifies your door (2) He brings to you exactly what you lust for (3) He asks you to take a closer look (4) You take a closer look, and suddenly you feel you must have it (5) You reach out for it, and he comes in to destroy. You must also watch out for his timing. He is prone to attacking at times of major upheaval in our lives; times of intense need, and times of major changes. Satan plays this out every single time and surprisingly he almost always seem to succeed. His greatest weapon has been our ignorance of his strategy but now we know. Hallelujah! Break that destructive cycle by applying the brakes using God’s Word and pleading the Blood of Jesus (Revelations 12:11). You are a winner in Jesus Name. Amen.
