Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

April 8: Bury Those Boxes

How oft did they provoke Him in the wilderness!, and limited the Holy One of Israel. Psalms 78:40, 41

Read: John 11:17-44; Daniel 3:12-30

Have you ever been in a situation where you felt like if God didn’t show up right there and then, it would be too late? Or ever experienced a challenge where you felt sure of how God needed to intervene and get you out? We all do from time to time. I remember several years ago I had a situation knocking on my door that was threatening to me. And I was convinced that there was only one way by which God could help me and He had to do it within a certain period of time or things would completely get out of hand. But, trust God. Whenever we put Him in “time-boxes” or any other kind of box, He’ll delay or pick a different plan to show His sovereignty! It is wisdom to determine to never put God in boxes. He just never fits! Do you understand? He is God all by Himself; He is Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent. Simply put, he has no limitations, and dislikes it when His people put limits on Him. Mary and Martha leant that lesson the hard way. They put the Lord in a ‘time-box’ because their brother Lazarus was sick and they knew he would die if something didn’t happen immediately. But you see they failed to reckon with the One with Whom there’s no impossibility. He made time but is not bound by it. He dwells in eternity, and can not be held hostage by anything on this earthly plain. So be encouraged, friend. Take on the attitude of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who knew that one way or the other their God would save them. Even if He had to do it after they were cast in the fire! So thank God today that no matter how threatening the situation is, He’ll save you in His own way at His own time. He will come through, Praise God!
