Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

April 19: Show Me Your Way

“Now I pray thee, show me now thy way, that I may know thee that I may find grace in thy sight.” Exodus 33: 13

Read:Exodus 18:19, 20; I Samuel 9:1-10

I don’t know about you, but I never go anywhere I’m not familiar with without getting directions and a helpful map. The last time I did that was several years ago in England. I was going to preach in a church in London, and got stuck in the center of the city after having gone round the same area about seven different times. I was going round the eighth time, too frustrated to find my way out, when my daughter (5 years old at the time, and my only companion on the trip) observed that she had been seeing a certain landmark over and over! She wanted to know if we were really going to a church or just fooling around the city. Finally, I inquired and got directions, arriving at the service just in time for ministry. If you’ve ever lost your way on an important trip where time was such an important factor, then you know how important it is that we know with a degree of certainty where we are going and how to get there. Unfortunately, the story of many Christians? lives is like that described above. They go round and round the same old spot and never seem to be able to get ahead. I pray that your life will not be that way, in Jesus’ Name. God created you for a meaningful destiny, and I believe that is what you will obtain. You will not be like the children of Israel who went round one single mountain for years. You were created for progress; for success; for astonishing results. So explore with me over the next few days the provision God has made for the ‘sweat-less’ discovery of your destiny. And as you observe these practical steps, your life will never be the same. When Saul lost his way while seeking his father’s livestock, he humbled himself and took counsel from his servant. They sought out a man of God who pointed the way out. Do the same today, and you will commence your journey to royalty, like Saul did, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
