Imparting life to the nations, one person at a time

January 22: The Cleft of the Rock

“And while My glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by” – Exo 33:22

Read: Mark 4:35-41; Exodus 33:14-22

You may know that popular hymn, ‘On Christ the Solid Rock I stand’. One of the lines says all other ground is sinking sand. Frankly, child of God, any other ground that we stand on outside of that eternal Rock, Jesus Christ, is sinking sand. Whatever we build that does not have His blessing or approval, or that is not conformed to His Word, will be washed away when the storms of life blow. Moses accepted God’s invitation to ascend to the place that existed by Him. And when he did, God hid him in the cleft of the rock. He wants to do the same for you today, beloved. If you will step up higher in your relationship with God, and continue to share intimate fellowship and communion with Him, He will hide you in troubled times from the assault of the enemy. During a life threatening storm the disciples encountered, they found Jesus sleeping peacefully in the ‘hinder’ part of the boat. God’s peace and quiet can only be realized in the ‘cleft of the rock’. Are you threatened by any challenge today? Let God hide you, by running unto Him. Thank Him for peace and protection today.
